ISRO: LAYING THE FOUNDATION OF SCIENTIFIC THINKING

There is hardly any Indian who is not waiting for Orbiter to join Vikram, but I want to say something different from the success of the mission –

Famous Hindi writer, poet Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan had said that

“Hot iron needs to be beaten cold iron has a long time to beat”.

             “गर्म  लोहा पीट ठंडा पीटने को वक़्त बहुतेरा पड़ा है “

Imagination and emotions do not last long so decided to write my thoughts immediately .

Success in any major work is not found in one day or one month or one year, success is found in pieces or in series only.

                           Then, welcome each rebuff

                            That turns earth”s smoothness rough,

Each sting, that bids nor sit nor stand

                                                      But go!

A LEADER LEADS BY EXAMPLE:

International badminton player Pullela Gopichand pledged his home to set up a badminton academy.

Today after a few years, the country is getting to hear the names of Saina Nehwal, p .v Sindhu, Arun Vishnu, Sai Praneeth, Kashyap, Srikanth, Gurusai and Arundhati on the international stage in badminton.

Sachin, Saurabh Ganguly, Rahul Dravin were impressed by legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar. One such image of Kapil holding the World Cup changed cricket in India forever. While Sachin has got the status of God in Indian cricket, he has not only brightened the name of India with his world records, he has influenced many children in his childhood and who are part of India’s cricket team today.

There is a similar story behind the international identity that is being found in wrestling, boxing as well.

Today we all are in a hurry to wave the tricolor on the moon, but it should not be forgotten that our journey started by carrying parts of satellites on bicycles and bullock carts.

” IS THIS WRITING JUST OLD FASHIONED INDIAN BOASTING? OR ARE THESE BOOKS TO BE SEEN AS PART OF A NEW INDIAN LITERARY AWAKENING, MATCHING BENGAL”S OF A HUNDREAD YEARS AGO, HELPING INDIA NOW TO UNDRESTAND ITS MORE COMPICATED SELF,TO DEVELOP AN AUTONOMOUS CULTUREAL LIFE, TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN NATIVE AND EVOLVED? OR DO THEY BELONG MORE TO THE PUBLISHING CULTURE OF BRITAIN AND UNITED STATES? THE QUESTION HAS TO BE ASKED BECAUSE NO NATIONAL LITRATURE HAS EVER BEEN CREATED LIKE THIS , AT SUCH A REMOVE WHERE THE BOOKS ARE PUBLISHED BY PEOPLE OUTSIDE, JUDGED BY PEOPLE OUTSIDE AND TO LARGE  EXTENT BOUGHT BY PEOPLE  OUTSIDE.

(V.S.NAIPAUL WINNER OF THE 2001 NOBLE PRIZE IN LITERATURE)

The success or failure of any of our scientific experiments should be decided by our scientists only. (NASA and the Space Organization of Europe are calling this mission successful and well appreciated.) There is media from the West which is trying to describe it as a failure and spreading propaganda. The mainstream media in the West has lost credibility in their own countries (77% of Americans have no faith in the mainstream media) and the President of there uses the term “peoples enemy” for them.

Jihadi minister of a failed country cannot define our success and failure.

                            “But man, proud man,

Dressed in a little brief authority,

Most ignorant of what he’s most assured,

This glassy essence, like an angry ape,

Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven

                         As make the angels weep”

                           Measure for Measure

                           ( William Shakespeare)

Sports (especially cricket) is the biggest tool to show unity in the diversity of India. These important tasks are now possible even with science. I believe that the future of India being connected with science culture and propagating scientific thinking is more important than contact with Vikram.

“ we should all be concerned about the future because we will have to spend the rest   of our life there “

Charles F Kettering (American inventor & businessman)

My fifth grade son was a mobile addict like any normal Indian child. But for a few months I feel a radical change in daily routine Half an hour before bedtime, which was used to play games on mobile, is now given to Stephen Hawking’s book “A Brief History of Time” I do not know whether he can understand this book or the things of the universe, he enjoys it like a children’s story book. The most interesting thing is that science is not limited to just reading a book. The telescope has become involved in everyday life in place of a scientific instrument. Mother’s kitchen has become a laboratory Rockets are being constructed with the help of aluminum foil, and plastic pipes (Tongue Cleaner plays the launch vehicle in it) This is going on in millions of homes in India This is a clear indication of what India is going to do in the future.

Thank you very much to ISRO for developing a scientific temper in the country and showing a glimpse of a better world.
